Our efforts have already resulted in big victories for the survivors, with immediately beneficial effects to their health. For example we have successfully fought for:

1. Funds being held by the Reserve Bank of India to be distributed among the gas-affected.

2. We have won a commitment in principle for clean water to be piped to communities where the water is contaminated, but will need to continue fighting hard to make sure it happens.

3. We have been promised an Empowered Commission on Bhopal which would have powers and funding to take much needed steps in the areas of health and rehabilitation.

4. We continue to hold Union Carbide and its owner Dow Chemical responsible for the ongoing water poisoning and by bringing them to court hope to achieve a clean up to international standards and fair compensation and medical care for those whose lives have been ruined.
