A "solar evaporation pond", abandoned full of thousands of tons of toxic sludge by Dow's subsidiary Union Carbide. Animals die, people living nearby get cancers and babies are born with terrifying deformities. Under "polluter pays" legislation, Union Carbide and Dow are responsible for cleaning the soil and the drinking water of the communities they have poisoned for so many years. But Dow, which has pledged to provide clean safe water for every human being on earth, has consistently refused to clean up its mess in Bhopal. Maybe Bhopalis are not human. Or maybe Dow bosses are not human. You decide.
